After spending an embarrassingly long time deciding on what topic I should base my first post on, I have finally decided to write about how I stay positive. Recently after changing my lifestyle and outlook I've found that I've had a much better outlook on life and have just been a generally happier person and so I wanted to share with you all the steps I took to live a positive life and I hope they work for you as well.

1. Positive Outlook
I know this one sounds obvious but so many people forget to try looking at situations from another perspective. When bad things happen we often become over dramatic and only focus on the negative aspects which can prevent us from using the situation to our advantage. For example if you're like me and are still in school you might be stressed after failing a test when really it's not that big of a deal. Instead of thinking about the consequences of this we should try thinking about the positives e.g you may have failed one test but not it isn't going to dramatically change your life. Maybe you failed high school? You can always go back and try again and if that isn't for you then find a job that you don't need a diploma for. Sometimes people can see the world in general as this big scary place when in reality, it's what you make of it. Life is filled with opportunities and if you start taking them it can honestly make you so much happier. Fear prevents more people from fulfilling their dreams than failure ever could.

2. Be Kind
A little kindness can go a long way and makes the lives of those around you happier which will hopefully make them be kind to you too. Kind people attract kind people and when you are giving out positive vibes it's really obvious and can make other kind people gravitate towards you. Being nice to others can also clear your conscience and you'll feel like a better person as a result. Being kind means not talking about other people behind their backs, not being rude and not purposely humiliating people.

"When words are both true and kind they can change the world"

3. Cutting Out Toxic People
I used to constantly let toxic people into my life and every single time I did my attitude would take a turn for the worse. It's can be so easy not to realise when people are having a negative effect on you and sometimes the people that effect you the most can be the hardest to cut out. I have cut out quite a few of my friends that were having a negative effect on my life and although it wasn't easy it was well worth it. Now that I only allow positive people in my life I honestly feel so much happier and so I totally encourage all of you to take a long look at your friends and ask yourself if the relationship between the two of you is positive or negative.

4. Do What You Love
My last point is another pretty obvious one but it is still super important and it is to always make time to do things you like doing. If you feel like you don't have time, make time, because making time for yourself is way more important than you might think.

I try following all these tips on a daily basis and I have been for the past month at least. They may seem like reasonably simple steps but they really do make a difference, for me at least and I hope they make a difference for you too.
